Canadian Geographic Education (CG Education) is the educational commitee of The Royal Canadian Geographical Society.

The programs of CG Education aim to strengthen geographic education in the classroom. In addition to increasing the emphasis on geography within the school system, CG Education endeavours to increase the public awareness of the importance of geographical literacy.

Want to make geographic education even better in only 15 minutes?

Canadian Geographic Education and affiliated researchers are conducting a national survey to better understand the teachers of geography and geographic-related content across Canada. We are looking for representation from all levels of K-12 education and from all regions of Canada. This is the first nation-wide survey of this kind for geographic education in this country - please ensure your voice and region are represented! A contribution of 15 minutes can make an immense difference in how we understand and respond to your specific needs.

You may participate in this survey by clicking the link below. Please choose either the English or French link to answer accordingly.

The survey will close on May 10th, so please don't delay in responding. Please feel free to pass along the link to anyone you know involved in geography education.

We are interested in the backgrounds and geographic knowledge and skill sets of K-12 teachers of all levels.  The survey is broad enough to be relevant to all levels of educators, and to recognize that the educators may teach geography in many different forms, and are informed by many avenues of learning - formal education, in-service, informal, and personal interest and experience.

We hope you will participate and join in shaping the future of geography education in the country.
